Nintendo Confirms ‘Fortnite’ for Nintendo Switch

“Fortnite” releases on Nintendo Switch today, June 12, Nintendo confirmed at E3. The game will be available to download at 10 a.m. PT. “On Nintendo Switch, ‘Fortnite Battle Royale’ is the same game you know from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and mobile,” Epic Games said in a release. “Same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates. With Switch, you can squad up with your friends in the same room or around the world, and even play on the go.” Players who link their Nintendo Switch profile to an Epic Games account will have access to cross-play functionality, allowing them to play with their friends on Xbox One, PC, Mac, and mobile devices. All purchased content and progression will be active across all the various platforms and networks. Nintendo eShop is having a Super Smash Bros. themed E3 sale

In celebration of E3 and the return of Super Smash Bros., the Nintendo eShop is having a huge sale. The theme of the sale is Super Smash Bros., so a lot of the games offered are ones that feature characters on the Smash roster.    For Switch, that means popular titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Fire Emblem Warriors are down from $59.99 to $44.99. For the 3DS, older games like the Mega Man Legacy Collection ($5.99) and Wario Land 3 ($2.49) are going for super cheap. Newer titles like Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia and Poochy & Yoshi ’s World are also reduced to $26.79.   But there’s loads of other titles not specifically related to Super Smash Bros. that are available, including indie gems like Night in the Woods ($13.99) and Aegis Defenders ($13.39). In total, 54 games are on sale right now.

Nintendo at E3 2018: Watch live for details on Smash Bros. and more

It's the Nintendo Switch's second E3! Since launching last year, the Switch has been a huge success for Nintendo, and the Japanese gaming giant will look to continue its momentum at E3 2018. Nintendo will be the last major company to hold an event, following Sony and Microsoft earlier in the week. And as has been the case for years, Nintendo will avoid a live show like its console competitors. Instead, it'll air a series of prerecorded videos highlighting its lineup. Earlier in the week, it'll also be hosting a tournament for Splatoon 2 and Super Smash Bros. Switch, the latter of which is by far Nintendo's most anticipated E3 2018 title after its surprise reveal earlier this year. When? Mario Tennis Aces impressions: unrelenting pressure in multiplayer

Mario Tennis Aces is a game of pressure. Relentless pressure, if you’re going to play against live competition. I figured this out about six matches into the demo tournament Nintendo staged this weekend — and I got throttled in all of them. I had a brutal introduction to the game’s multiplayer, sometimes perturbed by lag, and frequently determined by who built up their energy meter the fastest to unleash near-unstoppable attacks. The game, launching June 22 on Nintendo Switch, does give players some defensive tools, such as a “trick shot” that is more about getting a player to the ball in a hurry, and the ability to slow time. But against a human player, once placed on the defensive, it is hard as hell to retake control — and in Mario Tennis Aces, even a modestly skilled receiver can take it away from the server on the first return. New Pokémon game coming to Nintendo Switch later this year

A new Pokémon game will be released for the Nintendo Switch in November, with all new Pokémon to catch. The new Pokémon adventure will become available to Switch owners starting Nov. 16. A trailer for the upcoming game was uploaded on The Official Pokémon YouTube channel, May 29. In line with tradition in past Pokémon games, this Switch version will have two variants; “Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!” and “Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!” The trailer did not specify how the two will differ, but based on the footage, it may come down on who will be the player’s starting Pokémon. Going into the trailer, gameplay appears to be similar to the classic gameboy version, except with flashier and updated graphics. The site describes the gameplay as a reimagining of the story from “Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition”. “Let’s Go” also makes the most of Switch’s hardware.
